In world history, we have witnessed many revolutions which have been beneficial and supportive for the betterment of mankind. The Industrial Revolution that spanned from 1760 – 1840 saw the transition from creating goods manually to using machines. Over the years however, the mechanised operations too faced issues, in meeting the present-day demand for such utilities. Hence, the emergence of the digital revolution whereby information technology surfaced with the use of software, hardware and live ware to overcome the difficulties, issues, and complications in human activities in particular, and enhance global affairs in general. This aspect of digital revolution has been evolving at a fast phase as the response for the needs of individual, corporate and country opportunities,  and for the global communities, which in turn created the path to a new dimension of the digital revolution called -Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Emergence of  Artificial Intelligence

So it goes without saying that AI serves multiple important purposes and has a wide range of applications across various domains. Further almost all of these domains can support a task as virtual members of a team available round the clock with no down time (or a vacation) thereby providing timely, tailor-made options as solutions which otherwise would have taken time, with a reasonably high margin of error.

However, there are different schools of thought regarding AI, based on the contextual approach to many affairs in the current domains. AI has contributed immensely to areas such as: Automation, decision making, personalisation, accessibility, healthcare, predictive analytics, scientific research, security aspects, problem solving, environmental impact, etc.

The Management Club ( TMC) - Colombo Chapter will organise yet another guest lecture under the way forward series at the Galadari Hotel on Friday, 26 October 2023 at 6 p.m., in line with a timely topic; “The AI revolution – introduction to tomorrow’s tools and opportunities» which will touch on a few important aspects of using AI to optimise business affairs.

During the session, you will learn about the world of artificial intelligence and how it could help optimise your business by applying tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, Browse.ai etc. Also it will explain how these tools could support your work as a whole team with only these tools, delivering instantly without the need for downtime. You will be amazed to learn how easily and quickly you could realise complex projects with the power of AI. TMC has always been looking for opportunities for knowledge sharing among corporate members, taking up timely, worthy topics, and inviting industry experts. TMC would like to invite all those interested in the subject and those already engaged in AI affairs to share their knowledge to make this session thought provoking and beneficial to all.
