Hemantha assumes office as new CEO/Director at NTB

Hemantha Gunatilleke yesterday assumed duties as the new CEO and Director of the Nations Trust Bank 

Gunetilleke is a career banker with extensive international banking experience and a proven track record in Corporate Banking, Credit, Balance Sheet Management and International Trade Finance. Gunetilleke joined NTB in 2016 and served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer during the last two years, while being responsible for the Bank’s Consumer Banking and Commercial Banking business. Prior to joining the Bank. He held several senior roles at HSBC in Sri Lanka, Maldives and Hong Kong.

An alumnus of Royal College, Hemantha graduated from Warwick Business School, UK in 1996 with a BSc in Management Science and holds a BSc in Financial Services from the University of Manchester, UK. He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), UK.

Gunatilleke succeeded Priyantha Talwatta who resigned from NTB this week.
