The Management Club Colombo (TMC) concluded yet another very informative and resourceful way forward series presented on a timely topic, ‘The artificial intelligence revolution: Introduction to tomorrow’s tools and opportunities’ by Stefan Dittrich on 27 October at Hotel Galadari.

The proceedings were initiated by TMC Colombo, Chairman, Dr. Pradeep Edwards, who briefly introduced the purpose and objectives to the participants, for the benefit of non-members in the audience. It was a purposeful endeavour of TMC Colombo to embark on this ‘way forward series’ which brought to light some interesting timely topics by well-known corporate figures that gave the audience an exposure to expert comments. 

TMC Colombo, Vice Chairman, Priyantha Hapuarachchi made the introduction to the speaker, Stefan Dittrich alongside his credentials and experiences in the field, followed by the main presentation.

The event was attended by a packed audience of over 50 persons, covering various strata of industry related professions. Starting the presentation with the history and basics of AI Technology, the presenter brought the entire audience to various developments that have taken place up to today. 

In particular, he demonstrated the generation of text with Chat GPT, how to create images and graphics using Midjourney, make huge PDFs like Business Reports of over 500 pages easily accessible with LightPDF and automate simple but time consuming repetitive tasks by using Browse.AI. 

Giving some practical aspects on how one could optimise processes and make use of the same tools to minimise downtime he quoted several practical examples from the fields of Marketing and Sales, Business Administration, Finance and Management. Further, the participants were apprised on how easily one can realise a complex project with the power of AI. Since there are over 5,000 AI-Tools available as of today, Dittrich gave an idea on finding the right tool for one's Business.
