In a fusion of creativity and passion, the Soul Sounds Players, under the guidance of renowned theatre specialist Jerome L. De Silva, proudly present their latest theatrical endeavour, “When the clock strikes and the wolf howls.”

What began as a humble course in musical theatre has blossomed into an extraordinary creation that promises to captivate audiences with its depth, drama, and sheer originality.

The journey of the Soul Sounds Players commenced in October 2022 with a simple three-month course, but it soon evolved into a transformative two-year exploration of the possibilities inherent in the world of theatre. Drawing from their collective imagination and ingenuity, the Players have crafted an exquisite production that defies convention and invites audiences into a world of family intrigue, mystery, and the complexities of war.

“At its core, ‘When the clock strikes and the wolf howls’ is a tale of familial discord set against the backdrop of the Republic of Sonata,” explains Jerome L. De Silva. “Following the untimely demise of matriarch Linda Feurelise Potts, the remaining members of the Potts family find themselves embroiled in a web of tension and turmoil.”

Spanning nearly seven years and traversing various lands and landscapes, the narrative centres around Callus Brahms Potts, the eldest son, who seeks to escape the burdens of his familial legacy by enlisting in the Sonatese army. However, his journey takes an unexpected turn as he becomes entangled with the Ebon Rebels, adversaries of the Republic of Sonata.

“Through Callus’s journey, we explore themes of freedom, betrayal, and the consequences of one’s choices,” adds Jerome. “But the story doesn’t end there. We also delve into the struggles of Melodie Maria Potts, Callus’s younger sister, and Pick Potts, his youngest brother, each grappling with their own demons and destinies.”

Featuring an eclectic blend of original music, ranging from classical compositions to contemporary rap, “When the clock strikes and the wolf howls” promises to be a theatrical spectacle like no other. With its intricate plot, dynamic characters, and innovative storytelling, this production showcases the remarkable talent and creativity of the Soul Sounds Players.

“We’ve poured our hearts and souls into this production,” says Jerome. “It’s a testament to the power of collaboration and imagination, and we’re thrilled to share it with audiences.”

Don’t miss your chance to experience this extraordinary theatrical journey. “When the clock strikes and the wolf howls” will be staged at the Lionel Wendt Theatre on 5 April, with performances at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Lionel Wendt Box Office.
