Waters Edge to open its doors to the largest and most awaited kids’ Christmas party of the year

Set against the backdrop of Colombo’s cosmopolitan central, yet surrounded by the green-blue waters of the iconic Diyawannawa Lake, Waters Edge makes the perfect location to host the largest annual children’s party in the city.

Vibrantly themed ‘Kiddies Magical Christmas,’ the Christmas extravaganza which is scheduled for 15 December, amidst a host of other exclusive events held at Waters Edge, expects to amaze hundreds of youngsters of all ages, with memorable seasonal cheer, games and fun activities topped up with the widest spread of themed party nibbles across its gigantic buffet.

As one splendid occasion which marks the dawn of Christmas, the most celebrated event in Colombo, Waters Edge with its ‘Kiddies Magical Christmas’ party will kick off at 3 p.m. at the Grand Lawn, that would set in place a wide variety of games and activities such as water walkers, face painting, pony rides, balloon magic, themed bouncers, an exciting balloon dunk tank, merry-go-round, giant wheel, mini train rides and much more. 

The event will start by capturing the suspense of the kids with Santa’s sleigh and reindeer parked on the front deck, whilst father Christmas himself, the idyllic Santa Claus would surprise all the youngsters and the young at heart, by arriving at the lawn in style, by sea plane.

“From the lighting of the giant Christmas tree to the surprise of winning gifts during the entire event, we at Waters Edge have strategically planned to keep children’s excitement rolling,” says Waters Edge Director F&B Operations Nishan Moonesinghe speaking on behalf of the upcoming event. 

“The peak of the event would be the unique ‘fly-in’ by Santa Claus by a sea plane, who would then mingle with the children to take pictures and distribute gifts. This is one of the key events that we at Waters Edge host and one of the most awaited, by youngsters, the whole year through and we ensure that we keep our promises high,” he added.

‘Kiddies Magical Christmas’ would also feature many friendly mascots from Disney and other cartoons which have won the hearts of kids around the world. Kids and their parents would also be treated to a scrumptious buffet overflowing with seasonal favourites as a tribute to the culinary prowess of the chefs of Waters Edge.

Tickets would be priced at Rs. 1,500 for kids of aged two to four and Rs. 2900 for kids above four and for adults, and tickets are inclusive of the event entrance, games and canopy buffet. Parents have the opportunity to hand over the Christmas Gifts to the Waters Edge desk prior to the event, in order for Santa to hand them over to the respective child.
