Opens up in Saudi Arabia; Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat and Kuwait to follow

Spa Ceylon Ayurveda Wellness – the world’s largest luxury Ayurveda chain, has opened its first Middle Eastern location at the prestigious Mall of Arabia in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; commencing their strategic entry to the highly lucrative wellness and beauty markets in the GCC region.

Planned Middle Eastern expansion will see new locations opening in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Muscat in Oman and in Kuwait.

“As a brand, we pride ourselves on understanding global customer preferences and engaging with them. With this in mind, we have considered the uniqueness of this region, in terms of the people, climate, culture and their lifestyles, and have begun to create a uniquely customised regional offering,” Spa Ceylon Managing Director and Co-Founder Shiwantha Dias said.

“We have combined Luxury Ayurveda with the romance of old Ceylon and vintage Middle Eastern design elements, to roll out an exclusive Eid Celebration themed Festive Gift collection to this market, to be followed by premium fragrances and unique wellness formula designed specifically to appeal to this consumer,” he added.

Co-Founder Shalin Balasuriya said: “Given the growth of wellness and interest in natural ingredients in a post-COVID era, we believe Spa Ceylon has great potential in this market and the brand’s combination of the age-old Ayurveda wisdom, fine natural ingredients and the cultural aspects of Ceylon will carve out a unique positioning that will resonate with the Middle Eastern clientele.”

Spa Ceylon aims to expand its global presence in FY22/23 with 25 new locations, to reach an expanded 150 store footprint in more than 25 countries across five continents. The brand is planning to open several new markets in Europe, including Spain, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands; while further new store openings are also on the cards, including London, England, Lisbon, Portugal, Johannesburg, South Africa, Taipei, Taiwan and across Sri Lanka.

As a conscientious global brand, Spa Ceylon is committed to increasing their focus on sustainable sourcing; using more recyclable packaging and adopting cleaner and greener production processes, thereby further reducing their carbon footprint.

Founded in May 2009 by brothers Shiwantha Dias and Shalin Balasuriya, ‘Spa Ceylon’ has fast become a dynamic force in the global luxury wellness sector and has taken its Luxury Ayurveda brand to the world, becoming the world’s largest Luxury Ayurveda chain. Spa Ceylon captures the romance of old Ceylon combined with ancient Ayurveda wisdom to create their range of majestic spa rituals and Royal wellness formula designed to soothe, calm and relax the body, mind and soul.
