In commemoration of its 45th anniversary, NKAR Travels & Tours Ltd., is set to host a musical evening titled ‘Vibes of Yesterday,’ a tribute to the music of the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, while extending its commitment to corporate social responsibility by supporting the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama.
The concept was initiated by NKAR Travels & Tours Ltd., Chairman and Managing Director Nilmin Nanayakkara during an internal management discussion. The team unanimously agreed to channel the celebratory event towards a philanthropic cause that resonates personally with Nanayakkara, whose wife passed away from cancer eight years ago.
Scheduled to take place on 30 August at the Bandaranaike International Memorial Conference Hall (BMICH) Main Hall, the concert will feature a line-up of celebrated Sri Lankan artists from both the Sinhala and English music spheres. Veteran performers include Noeline Honter, Rukshan Perera, Marizelle Gunatilake, and Keerthi Pasquel, supported by the popular band Expressions.
‘Vibes of Yesterday’ aims to offer audiences a nostalgic experience while supporting a meaningful cause in the healthcare sector. The initiative reflects NKAR’s continued dedication to not only its business growth, but also its broader societal responsibilities.
“Marking this milestone with a concert that celebrates the golden years of music while giving back to the cancer treatment community is a fitting reflection of Legacy, Compassion, and Impact, which are the values of our company,” Nanayakkara said.
As both sponsor and event organiser, NKAR anticipates a strong turnout from corporate patrons and the general public alike, with all proceeds directed towards enhancing patient care at Apeksha Hospital.
