The textile tradition in India is a kaleidoscope of cultures and colours, as we all know. Colombo fashionistas can now experience this first hand on 19 and 20 December when Farah Meezan showcases a stunning range of affordable sarees, dupattas (shawls), salwar sets in varied textiles, kurtis and footwear, at a one of a kind exhibition and sale at 2, Thimbirigasaya Place, Colombo 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (between Kandyg’s and the German Bakery).

Experience this in a variety of fabrics and crafts, sourced from all over India, thus ensuring that there will be something for everyone.

From the stunning Bandhani and Ajrakh of Gujarat to the traditional Block Printing of Rajasthan,

from the Hand Kantha work of west Bengal to the needle Shibhori of northern India, and more in a wide range of fabrics, from the cottons of south India to Chanderi and Modal of north India.

Hand block printed, hand sketched in Bandhej and organic Ajrak prints on Modal silks, Chanderi silks, Maheshwari silks and many more, all of them ‘hand crafted to perfection’!

Farah Meezan is no stranger to Sri Lanka’s fashion conscious elite. Her last sale and exhibition saw renowned Pakistani designer Mahwish Mughal, bringing down a range of designer wear which was a complete sell out.

Once again Farah will delight her clientele with a range of exquisite designer wear on Monday 19 December and Tuesday 20 December, so make sure you head towards Thimbirigasyaya for a very special, unique sale of Indian wear, sourced from around the country.
