The Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) has partnered with the Indira Cancer Trust and the Roshan Mahanama Trust to observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.
As part of this initiative, the BMICH will illuminate its iconic Main Conference and Concert Hall in vibrant pink throughout the month, serving as a powerful public reminder of the critical importance of breast cancer awareness and early detection.
As a premier national landmark visited by thousands each day, the BMICH recognizes its responsibility to utilize its prominent public platform to champion impactful social and health causes. This initiative aims to encourage women to prioritize their health, recognize the value of routine screenings, and seek timely medical advice should they notice any unusual changes.
Director General Manuja Kariyapperuma said: “BMICH is more than just a venue; it is a national institution deeply committed to the well-being of the community we serve. By illuminating our landmark building in pink, we aim to spark vital conversations, reduce stigma, and remind women across the country that early detection saves lives.
“This initiative represents our contribution toward fostering a healthier, more compassionate society. We hope the glow from BMICH carries a message of vigilance, hope, and proactive care into every home.”
This meaningful partnership between the BMICH, the Indira Cancer Trust, and the Roshan Mahanama Trust underscores a shared dedication to improving public health outcomes and saving lives through early intervention.
Throughout October, the BMICH proudly stands in pink to shine a guiding light on awareness, hope, and early action.
