2nd China Cultural Fair 2018 a grand success

The Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China in Colombo and The China Cultural Center announce the successful completion of the second Chinese Cultural Fair 2018 which was held at Arcade Independence Square.

This special festival was organised coinciding with the ‘Chinese New Year’ which is celebrated by all Chinese nationals around the world. The opening ceremony of this special fair was held on 1 March which was graced by Cheng Xueyuan the Ambassador-Designate to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Colombo. The Guest of Honour of this special occasion was Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka.

This event was an excellent opportunity for the visitors to enjoy and witness the magnificent lanterns made by Chinese artists, street food organised by prominent Chinese restaurants in Colombo, and many other attractions.

A special dance and acrobatic troupe from China was flown down for this special occasion where a special performance was taking place on all four days of the event. This event was open for the general public which saw large crowds of Chinese cultural enthusiasts enjoying the festivities.
