Hilton serves extraordinary New Year’s Eve feast

Hilton Colombo has always been the trendsetter when it comes to food, events and celebrations. The hotel celebrated 25 years of service excellence this year with a series of events that took place throughout the 2012. With the year coming to a close, the final big event for the year is the New Year’s Eve dinner Dance: Silver Ball which will take place at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom.  

After a lapse of four years, the biggest dinner dance with two great bands; Geoffrey Fernando featuring Purple Rain and Black Velvet will take centre stage. Executive Chef Rohan Fernandopulle together with the rest of the kitchen brigade, will dish up a ‘one of a kind’ buffet spread.

Over 20 varieties of cheeses including riblaire chavere ronding leg, brie, mature Scottish cheddar and gongonzola eccellenza will be available. From seafood ice bar to Carvery station with angus rib roll and honey roast pork with apple, chilli and orange sauce, Charcuterie station, seafood station along with exotic desserts can be savoured.

Apart from the listed items there will be a pasta house with roasted pumpkin tortellini and white truffles, lobster and mushroom ravioli in lobster sauce for all Italian food lovers. Japanese sushi bar a vegetarian station and meat and poultry station is also included in the buffet.

Geoffrey Fernando featuring Purple Rain together with Black Velvet are two renowned bands that will keep the crowd dancing the night away. Another highlight of the event would be the 25 airline tickets on the entrance ticket draw, to exotic destinations such as London, Paris, Rome, Franfurt, Tokyo and the list goes on.

The Silver Ball will be hosted at the Hilton’s Grand Ballroom on 31 December guests can ring in the New Year with a truly unique sequence of events with the host of the evening, Adam Adamaly at this year’s spectacular New Year’s event.
