‘Goodies’ goes full steam ahead at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo

The chefs at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo pride themselves in their ability to delight. The festive season is here once again and they have taken upon themselves to spread the joy this season with their exquisite treats.

Making the year long wait worth every second, the Chefs present their seasonal specialties at Goodies, the delicatessen at the basement level of the hotel.

The treats look as good as they taste, and the selection comprises Chocolate Santas in three sizes, Stollen with marzipan, Chocolate angels, Gingerbread houses, Yule logs, Gingerbread stars, Marzipan santas, Chocolate pralines, Gingerbread Santas, Meringue snowmen, Marzipan fruits, Christmas cake, Dutch Breudher, Christmas pudding, Love cake, Christmas cookies, Turkish delight, Gingerbread mushrooms, Assorted nuts, Mince pies, Ginger sticks, Candied fruit, Spice milk toffee and Spicy kisses.

Orders may also be placed for Roast Turkey with bread stuffing, accompanied by roast potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce and giblet gravy at Rs. 4,000 per kilo for a minimum of four kilos. Other options include Derby chicken, Honey roast lamb, stuffed chicken roll, Roast leg of lamb, Chicken liver pate, Chicken and cheese pate, Pork pate on croute, Homemade smoked seer, Smoked salmon, Ginger and papaya confit, Pineapple and nut confit and Mixed fruit confit.

Goodies Hampers make a festive gift and are a great way of thanking a business associate or wishing a friend. Cinnamon Lakeside offers the flexibility for guests to handpick items and create their own hampers which will be wrapped for gifting with care. Alternatively guests could opt for the Goodies Hamper that has been thoughtfully prepared by the hotel and comprises of 18 select items of food and beverages for Rs. 35,000.

Goodies aims to impress not just with its festive food, but also with the festive atmosphere created just for the season. Whilst the rest of the hotel is elegantly decorated in line with the theme ‘Festive Reflections’ which builds upon the reflective nature of its lake and pool, Goodies has been turned into a little haven for children.

The hotel’s engineering team, led by Chief Engineer Panduka Wijeyawardena, together with the hotel’s kitchen artistes, has stationed an almost life-sized train at Goodies. The train was conceptualised and built by the teams complete with carriages that are bound to have kids squealing with excitement as they can climb in and out of it. They will even be able to watch children’s movies that will be projected onto a screen, from the comfort of the train!
