Volume Sri Lanka backs future ICT rising stars

Leading digital and innovation agency Volume, has teamed up with the Faculty of Computing at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), as gold sponsor of CODEFEST, the nationwide software competition to find the country’s future stars of software application design and development. The competition, open to all School and Tertiary level students in the country, tasked competitors with developing innovative ICT solutions to solve real world problems. It was an opportunity to compete with peers from across the island to showcase their talent, share experiences as well as network. More than 400 students participated in the last event. There were two main categories – School and Tertiary. In the School Category, participants were expected to develop an interactive system to assist students to interact with and improve subject knowledge on a subject to meet defined learning outcomes. In the Tertiary Category, contestant teams were expected to develop a context-aware mobile application which supports the current needs of Sri Lankan society.
