PIBT Director Kapila Ranasinghe was the chief guest for the occasion. He also delivered the key note address of the event. He congratulated the incoming batch of students who were selected to follow this degree program after having sat for two interview sessions.

Ranasinghe said the aim of these interview sessions was to enroll the cream of students who will continue their education at PIBT, and not leave the course prior to completion. He also stressed on the academic support given by the lecture panel to the students at PIBT.

PIBT has enrolled 150 undergraduates for this internal degree program from the year of commencement. Most of the students who have obtained their degree at PIBT have later completed their Masters and a few have moved further in to PHD programs at top class Universities in the world.  At present they hold top positions in leading IT and other firms in Sri Lanka and overseas. PIBT consists of the best resource panel in Sri Lanka. The panel consists of senior IT professionals from the best IT Companies in the island.

PIBT mentors students to balance all aspects of life instead of focusing solely on studies.

Therefore, the students can obtain an all-round education. At PIBT the students can log in to the virtual learning environment through individually assigned passwords and read books, past papers, and access other lecture material.
