NCE participates at Hotel Asia Exhibition and International Culinary Challenge 2012 in Maldives

The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) participating at the Hotel Asia Exhibition which was held in Male in the Maldives from 10 to 12 September. The Chamber participated at this event last year as well, and due to the successful outcome, and demand from member companies decided to participate this year too.

Director Trade Promotion Shiham Marikar led the delegation of eight companies who exhibited their products in the NCE pavilion. Basilur Tea Exports (Pvt.) Ltd, Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC, S. J. Agro World (Pvt.) Ltd., Gemi Teas, Celcius Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd., International Foodstuff Company Agri Bio-Tech (Pvt.) Ltd., Kandygs Handlooms (Exports) Ltd., and Samson International PLC were the companies which participated under the NCE banner.

The Chief Guest at the event was the Maldivian Economic Development Minister Ahmed Mohamed.

The primary objective of the NCE is to promote products and services of member companies, and non-member exporters as well at various International trade events to contribute effectively to the vision of the Sri Lankan Government to achieve the export target of US$ 20 billion by 2020.

The Chamber proposes to participate at other international trade events as well which are beneficial to exporters, and particularly those in new and emerging export markets to exploit export opportunities.
