The NBQSA is an annual event organised by the BCS Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka, and works to not just showcase but also benchmark cutting-edge local ICT products. The Awards aims to provide a means of recognition for those individuals or organisations which have provided valuable contributions towards developing the ICT sector in Sri Lanka, to create a platform for international recognition of locally developed ICT products and to improve overall quality while setting benchmarks for Sri Lankan ICT products and services, enabling them to be competitive internationally.
The competition is open to 16 categories, encompassing everything from Applications and Infrastructure Tools to Media and Entertainment Applications software. The entries are subject to rigorous assessment.
Janashakthi Insurance plc Managing Director Prakash Schaffter expressed pride at the company’s achievement at the Awards. “It is significant that we are the only insurance company to receive this mark of recognition. This Award showcases the fact that we are committed to remain in the forefront when it comes to innovation, and we will only continue to forge ahead in the ICT sector in the future,” he said.
Janashakthi Insurance recently achieved exceptional performance within the industry, recording its highest ever Profit After Tax (PAT) growth of 78% for the first six months ending 30 June 2013. The company achieved this while honouring a hefty LKR 1.9 billion in claims.
Janashakthi strives to translate these positive results to streamline the company’s business process, benefiting both customers and employees. In order to achieve these results, the company has invested heavily in employee training and development, the latest in technology and strategically restructuring its branch network.
