“Sri Lanka’s vibrant, dynamic enterprise sector is undergoing rapid digital transformation, and has driven its ICT sector workforce to grow by 50.7% between 2014 and 2018 and a further 16% in 20191. With its fast-developing digital economy, coupled with the Sri Lankan government’s implementation of the National Digital Policy 2020-20252, VMware is excited to deepen our support for business transformation in the country as well as other developing economies in the region as it charges ahead into the digital economy,” said Sanjay K. Deshmukh, vice president and managing director, Southeast Asia and Korea, VMware.

Prior to joining VMware, Venkatesh was Head of Software Defined Infrastructure, Central Asia Pacific for Lenovo Enterprise Solutions, where he led the Software Defined Solutions & Datacenter sales strategy for governments, corporations, and small and medium businesses across the region. He also built and led the customer advisory team for Enterprise Solutions while Head of Global Computing and Networking Solutions at Dell Global BV. He joins a strong stable of VMware Channel and Partner leaders for the wider region that includes Fan Qu, director, Partner Business, Southeast Asia and Korea, as well as Uma Thana Balasingam vice president and channel chief, Asia Pacific and Japan.
