A delegation of Sri Lankan women-led tech entrepreneurs participated in GITEX Global and Expand Northstar 2025, held in Dubai from 12-17 October.

Organised by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai, the Technical Exposure Program brought together four women-led Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), two large-scale technology companies, and an EDB representative to the global stage.

GITEX Global and Expand Northstar 2025 attracted over 200,000 attendees, 6,000 exhibitors, and participants from more than 180 countries, featuring 24 conference streams covering cutting-edge technology themes including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Future Mobility, Sustainability, and the Metaverse.

Beyond the main exhibitions, the Sri Lankan delegation actively engaged in multiple high-level networking events, including receptions hosted by the Pakistan Embassy, India’s Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), and the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai.

The delegation also participated in Dubai-based startup incubator programs, held strategic business meetings with potential partners, and attended knowledge-sharing sessions organised by the SheTrades Hub of the United Arab Emirates.

The program aimed to provide international exposure for women-led enterprises, facilitate investor matchmaking, and connect participants with global mentorship networks. This initiative forms part of the EDB’s New Exporter Development Programme (NEDP), designed to strengthen Sri Lanka’s technology sector presence in international markets.

The successful engagement at GITEX Global 2025 positions Sri Lankan tech companies for enhanced global collaboration and sustainable growth in the rapidly evolving international technology landscape.
