Sri Lanka leads cyber security collaboration in South Asia

State Minister of Technology Kanaka Herath extended Sri Lanka’s commitment to cyber security at the recent South Asia Regional Cybersecurity Conference, hosted by the US Embassy’s Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP). 

The conference fostered vital discussions on regional cyber threats and strategies for building resilience.

State Minister Herath outlined Sri Lanka’s ongoing implementation of the National Cyber Security Strategy (2019-2023) and the development of the next plan (2024-2027). 

He emphasised the importance of ongoing learning, flexibility, and international cooperation in cybersecurity efforts.The conference welcomed attendees from Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and the Maldives, demonstrating a commitment to a unified regional approach to cybersecurity challenges.
