SLT-Mobitel first to demonstrate latest 5G (SA and NSA) hybrid technology at Techno Sri Lanka 2023

Reaffirming its commitment to demonstrating the latest technologies, SLT-Mobitel, the National ICT Solutions Provider, reached yet another milestone by unveiling the cutting-edge hybrid model (SA+NSA) technology of 5G for the first time in Sri Lanka at the recently concluded Techno Exhibition 2023. 

This pioneering technological advancement has opened up new horizons for the widespread application requirements of 5G, offering customers an unparalleled opportunity to fully harness the entire spectrum of 5G benefits. With 5G Stand Alone deployment, SLT-Mobitel is geared to facilitate critical applications using Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC) demands with improved latency and will have the ability to further enhance its capacity to address dynamic customer demands, complementing with Network Slicing, Robust Quality of Service (QoS) Assurance, Edge Computing, and myriad other state-of-the-art functionalities. 

In addition, the introduction of the latest 5G (SA+NSA) hybrid network has further bolstered SLT-Mobitel’s system readiness to transit from 4G to 5G when 5G spectra are made available for commercial operations.  Towards providing customers the opportunity to experience the vast possibilities of 5G technology, SLT-Mobitel continues to expand its pre-commercial 5G trial zones across major cities in Sri Lanka, including Colombo, Kandy, Anuradhapura, Galle, and Jaffna, setting a pathway for a future where 5G services are more affordable and accessible.
