Leading global IT business consultancy Kerner Noland announced the opening of a regional headquarters and new office in Navam Mawatha, Sri Lanka.
The new strategic location will be staffed by a team of experienced IT professionals who will provide a range of services to Kerner Noland’s clients, including cloud and system integration, software architecture and development, IT security, database and distributed system management, and solution design.
The establishment of the new office is part of Kerner Noland’s strategic growth plan to expand its global footprint and provide its clients with the best possible service. Sri Lanka is a rapidly growing IT market with a skilled workforce, making it an ideal location for Kerner Noland’s new premises.
“We are excited to establish our new office in Sri Lanka,” said Kerner Noland Founder and CEO Arjuna Samarakoon. “This is a strategic ‘pincer move’ to take on the competition, and for us as we continue to grow our global footprint and provide our clients with the best possible service. We are confident that our team in Sri Lanka will be able to deliver high-quality services that meet our clients’ needs.”
Samarakoon also commented on the IT industry in Sri Lanka, saying: “I am impressed with the progress Sri Lanka has made in the IT sector in recent years. The country has a strong pool of IT talent, and the Government is committed to developing the IT industry. I believe Sri Lanka has the potential to become a major player in the global IT market.”
The new Kerner Noland office in Sri Lanka was ceremonially opened for business in early September by Fellow Chartered Accountant Indrajith Fernando, a long-time associate of the company. Fernando is a well-respected figure in the corporate world including the insurance and wealth management fields and has a track record of success in both the public and private sectors.
“I am delighted to ceremonially open the new Kerner Noland office in Sri Lanka,” said Fernando. “This is a great opportunity to work with a leading IT consultancy and to help them expand their business in Sri Lanka. I am confident that the company will be able to provide the clients with a cutting edge service.”
The opening of the new Kerner Noland office in Sri Lanka is a significant milestone for the company. The spanking new premises will help Kerner Noland expand its reach into the growing IT market in Sri Lanka, and help the company provide its clients with the best possible service.
Concerning the broader contours of the IT industry in Sri Lanka, Arjuna Samarakoon said: “Sri Lankans are developing hi-tech in various novel areas such as meeting latest cybersecurity threats. They are resilient and innovative. The ease of doing business in Sri Lanka is better than Cambodia, Vietnam etc. but may not be as good as Australia which is a developed country, that contrast being natural. We need to work on faster resolution on issues of arbitration etc. and resolution of legal issues and have to improve in those areas. Overall Sri Lanka is a good location, good for investment, which is why I built a business from nothing employing 2500 people.”
