Great Place to Work unveils “Sri Lanka’s 10 Best Workplaces in Technology Industry for 2025”

Great Place to Work Sri Lanka has announced the 10 Best Workplaces in Technology for 2025, recognising organisations that foster high-trust, high-performance cultures driving innovation, collaboration, and growth in the tech sector.

Now in its sixth consecutive year, the annual study of the technology sector by Great Place to Work continues to serve as a benchmark for excellence in workplace culture. The 2025 recognition comes after a survey of over 5,500 employee voices across 30 organisations, achieving an impressive 89% response rate.

The 10 Best Workplaces in Sri Lanka’s technology industry for 2025, comprised of Adapt Information Technologies Ltd., Altrium Ltd., BoardPAC Ltd., Dijital team, EGUARDIAN Lanka Ltd., Huawei Technologies Lanka Company Ltd., ITX360 Ltd., Stelacom Ltd., SYNERGEN Health Ltd., and SYNERGEN Technology Labs Ltd. The organisations are listed in alphabetical order, without any rankings.

Study highlights and key insights

The study was based on the globally validated Great Place to Work For All methodology, evaluating both employee perception through the Trust Index Survey (75% weightage) and people practices that sustain organisational culture through the Culture Audit (25%).

To be eligible for recognition, companies were required to be Great Place to Work-Certified between June 2024 and May 2025, be registered in Sri Lanka with a minimum of 20 employees, and pass the 70% positive employee perception—reflecting the global threshold of trust that defines a great workplace.

Key findings from the 2025 study reveal that the Best 10 companies achieved an impressive 91% average positive employee perception. In contrast, the rest of the industry lagged behind by 13 percentage points, highlighting a significant cultural gap. 

Against past trends of increasing scores, the average for the Best 10 in Tech was a result of a two-point drop from the 2024 study. Among the best 10, camaraderie among employees experienced a notable year-on-year decline, falling by four points. While employee pride and confidence in workplace facilities remain high, there is an increasing need for enhancements in fair performance management and fair compensation. The key culture drivers distinguishing the Best 10 include daily motivation to work, managers walking the talk, and psychological safety. The goal of this study and recognition was threefold: to inspire change by motivating more organisations to build inclusive and empowering work environments; to share insights by delivering data-driven perspectives on workplace trends within Sri Lanka’s tech industry through the employee perspective; and to celebrate effort by applauding organisations that consistently invest in nurturing trust, transparency, and a positive workplace culture.
