Gapstars, a B2B service provider helping innovative Dutch software companies grow rapidly with high-performing agile offshore development teams in Sri Lanka, hosted the much anticipated Gapstars ‘Scale Up Party’ on 17 February at Port City Colombo.

The event which celebrated the company’s growth recognised its 200+ professionals and partners for their unwavering support over the years, which aided in the facilitation of the company’s year on year success.

Hosted by Fahad Farook, the event welcomed over 250 attendees including guests from partner companies in the Netherlands – such as Mycademy, Carv, Fixico, Certscanner and Alicia. Creatively curated, the event acted as a platform to support small, local food vendors (with thambili and street food served throughout) and entertainment acts that truly showcased the many facets of Sri Lanka. Setting the tone for the event was an electrifying Angampora performance which showcased Sinhalese martial art that combines combat techniques, self-defence, sport, exercise, and meditation, followed by deeply-moving Naadro Drummers performance, and an energy-filled performance by Magic Box Mixup for the remainder of the night. In true Gapstars style, attendees were also given an adrenaline-filled experience with jet skiing, speedboat rides and sofa rides available.

Speaking at the event, Gapstars Ltd. CEO Hugo Hemmen said: “Tonight is a celebration of how much we’ve grown in the past years. From humble beginnings, we’ve now grown into a company of 200+ employees and a network of amazing partners from a multitude of different industries, including ecommerce, energy and healthcare and software, just to name a few. We are truly thankful for the continued support of our global and local partners, and celebrate our employees for their achievements, performance and commitment to upholding our company values of Growth, Impact and Family.”

The high-energy event also included the scale-up awards ceremony which recognised star members across four categories: ‘Longstanding Employees’, ‘Value Champions’, ‘Partner Excellence’ and ‘Outstanding Performers’.
