FITIS urges Lankan firms’ participation at ASOCIO Digital Summit in Nov.

Globally recognised and prestigious ASOCIO Digital Summit 2025 themed “Artificial Intelligence shaping digital Asia” and annual awards presentation ceremony will take place on 11 November this year (2025) in Taipei, Taiwan.

Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) is an ICT federation organised by ICT associations representing 24 economies throughout the Asia Pacific. Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Lao PDR, Macao, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam are presently affiliated to ASSOCIA.

Large number of IT organisations from Sri Lanka attends this event annually and a considerable number of awards have been received by them each year. Sri Lanka is an associate economy and Federation of Information Technology FITIS is the franchise affiliated partner for ASOCIO in Sri Lanka.

FITIS Chairman Dr. Dayan Rajapakse said: “Since 2023, ASOCIO has been focusing on the theme “Digital Asia” as its core initiative, hosting the Digital Summit annually at year-end in its member economies. This program covers topics such as digital talent cultivation, digital transformation, smart government, and cloud services aiming to foster a dominant digital presence in the Asia-Oceania region.”

He said this summit explores key issues and strategies for advancing Digital Asia across different economies and ASOCIO member economies represent the region accounting for $ 1 trillion in global ICT revenue.

He added that ASOCIO’s objective is to promote, encourage and foster relationships and trade among its members, and to develop the computing industry in the region. “We invite more and more partners to enrol for the summit and nominate your organisation for digital awards as we aim to recognise outstanding achievements in the adoption and implementation of digital technologies. Individuals, academic institutions, corporations, NGOs, and Government agencies are invited to participate and showcase their exemplary initiatives across various award categories. He said out of 106 awards presented by ASOCIO last year, 8 won by Sri Lankan organisations competing with other countries in Asia Oceanic. He magnetised the local IT partners to double the accolades this year compared to last year as FITIS is willing to provide its maximum support and cooperation to achieve this goal.
