Epic Technology Group has once again made Sri Lanka proud at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2025, securing the highest number of awards won by any single company in the Asia Pacific region.

The company brought home an impressive four awards, including two Gold and two Bronze awards, becoming the first Sri Lankan organisation ever to achieve such a remarkable milestone. Epic’s exceptional performance also contributed to Sri Lanka becoming the second-highest award-receiving country at the ceremony. This year marked the 24th edition of the prestigious event, which was held from 4 to 8 December 2025 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Recognised as the Asia Pacific region’s premier ICT competition, the APICTA Awards celebrate outstanding ICT innovations while fostering collaboration among 17 member countries. A total of over 280 nominations were received this year, including 43 entries from Sri Lanka, of which 36 were commercial nominations. The winners were selected through a rigorous evaluation process conducted by distinguished panels comprising over 70 industry experts.

“Bank2U – Financial Inclusivity Backbone,” Epic’s branchless and agency banking platform designed to deliver real-time financial services to underserved, underbanked, and unbanked communities, won the Gold Award (Inclusions and Community Services) in the Indigenous Services/Regional, Rural, and Remote Services/Sustainability category. This recognition highlights its transformative role in expanding financial inclusion and empowering grassroots economic participation.

The company further strengthened its reputation for driving digital transformation in the public sector by winning the Gold Award (Business Services) in the Security Solutions category for its “LCNC Framework with Digital Signing Engine.” This solution enables government institutions to adopt modern private-sector practices through workflow automation and secure digital signing, improving efficiency, reducing operational costs, and delivering faster and more reliable services to citizens.

Epic’s leadership in the fintech landscape was also underscored with two Bronze Awards. The company earned the Bronze Award (Consumer) in the Consumer Services category for “E-Switch with FraudGuard and Reconciliation,” a secure and comprehensive digital transaction framework that safeguards banking ecosystems. Epic also secured the Bronze Award (Business Services) in the Finance, Marketing, and Professional Services category for the “Epic SELF Smart Financing Suite,” reaffirming the company’s unparalleled strength and depth in financial technology innovation.

This achievement follows Epic’s outstanding performance at the National ICT Awards, NBQSA 2025, where it won the highest number of awards and emerged as the most nominated organisation from Sri Lanka to APICTA 2025. Last year, Epic made history as the first Sri Lankan company to win both a Gold and a Silver Award at a single APICTA event. This year, the company has elevated its performance to an entirely new level.

Epic Technology Group Executive Chairman Dr. Nayana Dehigama said: “This accomplishment reflects the dedication, innovation and discipline that define Epic. We have always believed in building world-class technology in Sri Lanka and today, the Asia Pacific region has recognised that excellence.”

Managing Director and CEO Viraj Mudalige said: “These awards are a testament to the incredible talent and hard work of all Epic staff. We are honored to continuously bring pride to Sri Lanka on the global stage, and we remain committed to creating impactful solutions that transform industries and uplift communities.”

For nearly three decades, Epic Technology Group has been at the forefront of digital transformation, delivering groundbreaking solutions across e-Governance, Secure Payment Automation, Workflow Management, Information Security, and Mobile Enterprise Automation. With this monumental success at APICTA 2025, Epic reinforces its relentless pursuit of excellence and its unwavering commitment to advancing ICT innovation in Sri Lanka and beyond.
