Data Management Systems Ltd., (DMS), and Entrust Corp of the USA the global leader in identity-centric security, identity management, Financial EMV Credit and Debit card issuance systems conducted a seminar for over 100 senior professionals from leading private and government sector organisations at the Shangri-La Colombo under the theme “Building a Trusted Workplace.”
The seminar focused on the growing importance of secure identity credentials and modern ID card issuance systems as organisations face increasing challenges related to identity fraud, credential security and operational efficiency.

Entrust’s Sales Director for the Asia Pacific Max Ebdy delivered a presentation on “The Future of ID Card Issuance: Balancing Security, User Experience and Operational Efficiency,” highlighting global trends and challenges in citizen, employee and student credential issuance.
Entrust’s technical experts Himanshu Karnik and Jatin Chedda demonstrated leading-edge ID card issuance technologies, including Instant ID Issuance (IIDI), distributed issuance and ID Issuance as a Service (IIDaaS). These technologies are designed to strengthen credential security while improving control and efficiency across multiple locations.
Former Sri Lanka Police Media Spokesman Rtd. Senior DIG Attorney-at-Law Dr. Ajith Rohana, who was a guest speaker at the seminar, delivered a special presentation titled “Building a Trusted and Secure Workplace,” stressing the importance of corporate identity cards with strong security features that are difficult to counterfeit and easy to verify.
He referred to incidents reported in Sri Lanka involving the misuse of forged corporate identification cards for criminal activities and emphasised the need for organisations to maintain proper controls over the creation, issuance and verification of employee credentials.
Dr. Rohana further emphasised the potential legal and reputational consequences for organisations when their identification credentials are misused, stressing the need for stronger security measures and responsible ID card management.
The event also featured live demonstrations of high-security ID card issuance, giving participants the opportunity to observe first-hand how modern technologies strengthen physical and digital identity management.
The seminar concluded with discussions on the evolving role of digital identity and secure physical credentials, highlighting the importance of combining advanced technology, effective operational controls and organisational responsibility in building trusted workplaces.
