The Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) has onboarded Mastercard as a partner for the 43rd National Information Technology Conference (NITC).
Scheduled for 14–16 October at the Shangri-La Colombo, NITC is Sri Lanka’s premier and longest-running IT conference.
Organised annually by CSSL, NITC 2025 is recognised as a flagship initiative to advance research, innovation, and digital literacy in the country. The NITC 2025 is a multifaceted business conference comprising a number of events, including the inauguration, the NITC conference, the CSSL Awards, and the Sri Lanka Digital Investment Summit.
This year’s event theme, ‘Fostering a Human Centric Nation: Towards Society 5.0’, aligns closely with the Government’s vision of building an inclusive digital economy. Through technology-driven solutions, the conference seeks to accelerate Sri Lanka’s journey toward ‘Society 5.0’, with dedicated tracks covering fintech, edutech, traveltech, infosec, e-governance, agritech, healthtech, and e-gov. The event will host over 1000 participants, including distinguished speakers of national and international acclaim.
Mastercard’s collaboration has played a pivotal role in enabling CSSL to deliver on these objectives while aligning with the overall theme of the conference.
NITC 2025 is organised under the leadership of CSSL President Heshan Karunaratne, who emphasised the importance of embracing the conference’s vision. “Society 5.0 represents the next frontier of digital transformation. It is not only about applying technology but about reimagining how technology can serve people, enhance inclusivity, and deliver social good,” he said. Dr. Amal Illesinghe will serve as the Conference Chair.
NITC 2025 is a multifaceted business conference spanning three days, featuring a range of events including the inauguration, the NITC Conference, and the CSSL Awards.
Mastercard Country Manager – Sri Lanka and Maldives Sandun Hapugoda said, “Mastercard is deeply committed to advancing financial inclusion and enabling both enterprises and communities to fully participate in the digital economy. Our support for NITC 2025 is a valuable opportunity to share Mastercard’s global technology expertise, introduce secure and innovative payment solutions, and help build pathways for communities to thrive. The goal is to contribute to a more connected, inclusive, and digitally empowered Sri Lanka.”
