Record number of candidates for A/L

A record number of candidates are sitting for this year’s A/L examination, said the Examination Commissioner Anura Edirisinghe.

According to the Commissioner, 294, 225 students are sitting the G. C. E A/L examination this year and 2400 examination centres have been established countrywide for this purpose.

Special examination centres will be established for ex LTTE combatants at Kalutara Magazine and Vavuniya. An examination centre will also be established in Boosa camp if required, the Commissioner said.

The 2011 G.C.E A/L examination will be held from 8 August to 3 September. (www.info.gov.lk)
