Pradeep Edward appointed as inaugural SLIM-BUCKS (UK) Alumni President

The SLIM/Bucks Alumni conducted its inaugural Annual General Meeting under the patronage of Vice Chancellor of BUCKS University UK Prof. Deric Godfry,  SLIM President Thushara Perera , SLIM /Bucks MBA Coordinator Ajitha Wanasinghe and SLIM Executive Committee officials at the SLIM House recently. The event was attended by a large gathering of Bucks MBA Holders in the country. Mr. Pradeep Edward was unanimously appointed as President of the inaugural SLIM-BUCKS Alumni.

Pradeep received his primary education at St Peter’s College Colombo. He attained a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing and also a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. He currently holds a honorary status as a Practicing Marketer in Sri Lanka and as a Certified Professional Marketer in Asia Pacific. He also holds a Fellowship from the Institute of Management Specialist (UK) and is a MBA holder of the Bucks MBA program.

He has over 16 years’ experience in marketing both in local and Multinational Companies. Pradeep currently works in the capacity of General Manager at NovEx Pharmaceuticals Limited, He also has been a Past President of the Pharma Promoters Association of Sri Lanka and was a Director of the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation. He is currently the Secretary of the Rugby foundation of St Peter’s College.

The inaugural office bearers of the SLIM-BUCKS Alumni comprise President Pradeep Edward, Vice President Sampath Weerasinghe, Secretary Madhurangi Abeygunasekera, Assistant Secretary Imesha Gunasekara, Treasurer Anthony Jayasena and Assistant Treasurer Vajira Kulasinghe.

Commenting about his appointment President Elect SLIM-BUCKS (UK) Alumni Pradeep Edwards said, “It is a joyous occasion for me personally to be selected to this Prestigious Body. I would especially like to acknowledge and recognise the effort of our SLIM President Thushara Perera and the Executive Committee for the unparalleled support rendered towards this initiative. We as a community will not only drive and share management education and best practices, but continue to build a hub of management professionals, through sustainable projects enhancing the developing process Sri Lanka through education.”

The newly appointed board members plan to aggressively conduct a series of knowledge sharing events which would benefit all past and present SLIM-BUCKS MBA students. Further the committee will implement projects and practical knowledge sharing events helping rural school students in their field of education.
