IPM launches Certified HR Auditors’ Network

IPM Sri Lanka - the Nation’s leader in human resources management – recently launched the Certified HR Auditors’ Network comprising of 28 senior members who were awarded the “Certified HR Auditor” title after successfully completing the very first Certified HR Auditor Program in Sri Lanka conducted jointly by IPM and TV Rao Learning Systems, India. 

The IPM Certified HR Auditors’ Network comprises practicing HR Professionals from different sectors who possess a minimum of 5 years of HR managerial experience and have completed either the PQHRM (Postgraduate Qualification in Human Resources Management), MBA in HR or Degree in HR from a recognised University/Institute. The program was designed so as to inculcate special insights on how a Certified HR Auditor could uplift standards of HR practices in an organisation through the application of HR Audit and HR Scorecard.  

In keeping with IPM Sri Lanka’s objective of keeping pace with new trends and concepts in HR by engaging continuously with the business community to uplift the HR profession to further greater heights, the formation of the IPM Certified HR Auditors’ Network was mooted by Lead Facilitator/Management Consultant and Past President, IPM Sri Lanka, Jayanta Jayaratna. Subsequently the Council of IPM Sri Lanka approved the launch of the IPM Certified HR Auditors’ Network comprising of HR professionals with a wide range of competencies. The inaugural meeting of the IPM Certified HR Auditors’ Network was held recently at the Members Lounge at “HR House” – the IPM Sri Lanka head office building, with the participation of President, IPM Sri Lanka, Rohitha Amarapala with Jayanta Jayaratna and other distinguished officials.

“HR Audits play a critical role in enabling organisations successfully achieve their strategic goals. In this context, the IPM Certified HR Auditors’ Network has the necessary skills, qualifications and experience to propel the human resources landscape to new vistas” said Rohitha Amarapala.

“We are now in a position to help organisations to achieve their maximum potential from a HR perspective by conducting organisational HR Audits through a tried and tested system by our own HR professionals who have a genuine understanding of the ground situation” he added.

Stating the mission of the IPM Certified Auditors’ Network as  enhancing the knowledge and expertise of the HR profession and to cater to the HR needs of organisations in Sri Lanka, Past President, IPM Sri Lanka, Jayanta Jayaratna said that the objectives of the network include encouraging the study of HR Audit and HR Scorecard amongst the members of the IPM HR Auditors’ Network, creating an information and knowledge hub for activities pertaining to HR Audit, encouraging and assisting members of the network to undertake HR Audit assignments, preparing HR Audit standards and best practices in Sri Lanka, inculcating knowledge of new trends in HR amongst the HR fraternity and publishing articles and/or research findings pertaining to HR Auditing in Sri Lanka.

Due to many requests received from HR professionals and to give an opportunity for more to join the program and be certified and recognised as HR Auditors, IPM Sri Lanka will be conducting the 2nd workshop on the Certified HR Auditor Program from 19  to 23 January 2016 at the Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo.

IPM Sri Lanka keeps pace with the new trends and concepts in HR by engaging continuously with the business community to share experiences, thoughts and insights in order to enrich and enhance the HR profession. It actively encourages and promotes members’ participation at international conferences and fora to provide relevant exposure, build networks and conduct research into areas of interest to the HR profession in Sri Lanka. 

IPM was founded in 1959 and was subsequently incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1976. IPM is affiliated to the Asia Pacific Foundation of Human Resources Management and also to the World Federation of People Management Association. IPM, being a professional institute is also a constituent member of the Organisation of Professional Associations [OPA] Sri Lanka. Currently IPM comprises of over 900 Professional Members who serve in both public and private organisations.
