Brandix i3 and SLIIT sign MOU to set up In-house internship program

Brandix i3 signed a MoU last week with the Sri Lanka Institute of Information and Technology (SLIIT) to set up an in-house internship program at the university. The program will simulate a corporate environment for students to acquire the professional and technical skill sets needed to increase employability. Under the four-year partnership, Brandix i3 will identify key projects and select eligible students to be part of the internship program. During the program, Brandix i3 will mentor the interns, constantly monitor their progress and provide feedback. The internship program is also set to emulate the Brandix i3 work ethic amongst the interns and enable them for wider programs in the company. Regular review meetings between Brandix i3 and SLIIT will also be conducted to ensure progress. Commenting on the occasion, Brandix i3 Chief Executive Officer Arjuna Sirinanda said: “It is a privilege for us to partner with SLIIT to offer internship opportunities, in a unique environment, to their undergraduates. Through the program we will give students a taste of life in the corporate world within their campus environment.” “Through this exercise we also hope to expose the undergraduates to the challenges of working in the global workplace,” he added. Also commenting on the occasion Managing Director/CEO of SLIIT, Prof. Lalith Gamage said: “Partnering with Brandix i3 to offer internship programs for our undergraduates is an exciting opportunity to prepare students for the corporate world in a global atmosphere.
