The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of the University of Jaffna successfully hosted its annual Career Fair – 2025 on Tuesday, drawing participation from over 800 students and nearly 30 leading industry representatives.
Organised by the Career Guidance Cell of the Faculty under the leadership of Dean Professor N. Kengatharan, the event was inaugurated by the University of Jaffna Vice Chancellor Professor S. Srisatkunarajah, who attended as the Chief Guest.
The primary objective of the fair was to provide internship and career opportunities for final-year students, particularly those in management, commerce, and related disciplines. The event featured companies and organisations from diverse sectors including banking, accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, business technology, communications, and garment manufacturing.
Speaking at the inauguration, Vice Chancellor Prof. Srisatkunarajah emphasised the importance of industry-academia collaboration in enhancing graduate employability and skill development. He commended the Faculty for its proactive initiatives in bridging the gap between education and employment.
Also in attendance were Faculty of Graduate Studies Dean Professor T. Velnambi, and Senior Professor in the Department of Accounting and Career Guidance Cell Chairman N. Umakanth, along with faculty heads, academic staff, and administrative personnel.
The event provided a dynamic platform for students to engage directly with potential employers, explore career paths, and submit applications for internships and job placements. The organisers noted that the fair not only benefited students but also allowed participating companies to scout promising talent for future recruitment.
The Career Fair – 2025 marks yet another milestone in the University of Jaffna’s ongoing commitment to fostering career readiness and industry engagement among its students.
