Dr. Nasar Abdul Wadood, Principal Dental Surgeon of Align Dental Care Ltd., has made history by becoming the first dental professional in Sri Lanka — and one of only a select few across Asia — to be awarded the prestigious DSD Master Doctor Certificate by Digital Smile Design (DSD).
The DSD Master Certificate is one of the most coveted recognitions in modern dentistry, awarded exclusively to professionals who demonstrate outstanding performance in a comprehensive DSD case, integrating cutting-edge digital workflows, facial esthetics, and emotionally driven patient care at the highest level.
Dr. Nasar is widely recognised as the first dental professional in Sri Lanka to adopt digital dentistry workflows, pioneering a new era of technology-driven patient care in the country. Under his leadership, Align Dental Care proudly stands as the first and only DSD-certified clinic in Sri Lanka.
Deeply inspired by the philosophy of DSD founder Christian Coachman, Dr. Nasar has built his practice around the seamless integration of technology, esthetics, and emotional dentistry.
He holds fellowships as an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Fellow of ICCDE in Orthodontics, and Diplomate of the Global Community of Oral Implantologists.
This achievement was made possible by a dedicated team —Anosh Ahmed, whose founding contribution established Align Dental Care as Sri Lanka’s first DSD-certified clinic; Buddhi and Ajith, whose exceptional clinical photography and videography underpinned the case submission; and Bawani, Dharshi, and Sahana, whose unwavering support was invaluable throughout the journey.
Dr. Nasar will travel to Madrid, Spain in October 2026 to receive his DSD Master Pin — marking Sri Lanka’s proud arrival on the world stage of digital dentistry.
