Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development (SLITAD) the national professional institute of training and development professionals, recently invited Dr. Nalin Jayasuriya, a renowned business consultant, management trainer and coach, to deliver a presentation on ‘Purposeful Training for Impact’ to the members of the institute. Some key areas covered by Dr. Jayasuriya were: 

1. Researched benefits of training to organisations; 

2. Personality traits of an impactful trainer; 

3. Art of persuasiveness and positive influence when training; 

4. Use of diplomacy in self-realisation and wanting to change, etc.

SLITAD, founded in 1998 by a group of HRD Professionals from diverse sectors led by late Achilles Joseph, is an institutional member of Asian Regional Training and Development Organisation (ARTDO International). The institute is well geared to deliver value in the areas of learning, grooming, facilitating and training with the core objective of building competent individuals and teams as well as more competitive and progressive organisations in the rapidly changing world. SLITAD conducts diploma and certificate programs / courses in training and human talent development, certified life and business coach, certified trainer and train the trainer.

At the conclusion of the presentation, Dr. Jayasuriya presented copies of the two books he authored, i.e., ‘Rise above organisational dilemma’ and ‘Attract potential and grow talent’ to the library of SLITAD. Dr. Jayasuriya himself, was the President of SLITAD during the year 2010/2011. Other previous presidents included Chandra Fernando (former IGP), Eastman Narangoda (former Seylan Bank Chairman), Ajith Bopitiya and Padmasiri Ranawakaarachchi.
