PIMA holds AGM; appoints new Executive Committee 2026/2027

The Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni Association (PIMA) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura successfully conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the year 2026/2027 recently at the PIM Auditorium, Colombo, with the participation of PIMA alumni members and distinguished invitees 

The AGM was attended by Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) Director Dr. Asanga Ranasinghe along with Dr. Samantha Rathnayake, PIMA and PIM Faculty Coordinator. Several past presidents of PIMA were also in attendance, reaffirming the strong legacy and continued engagement of the alumni body.

During the meeting, the Executive Committee (ExCo) for the term 2026/2027 was formally appointed. Mahesha Amarasuriya, Director – Mastercard Sri Lanka, was elected as President of PIMA for the year 2026/2027.

Manoj K. Moses, Director – Spearhead Solutions Ltd., was appointed as Vice President, while Amal Sampath, Assistant General Manager – AIA Insurance Lanka PLC, was appointed as Secretary. Rajaratnam Naguleswaran, Assistant Vice President – DFCC Bank, FI and Correspondent Banking, was appointed as the Treasurer. Shantha Katipearachchi, Corporate Consultant, will serve as Immediate Past President on the Executive Committee for the year 2026/2027.

In addition, the following distinguished professionals were appointed as Executive Committee Members of PIMA for the 2026/2027 term: Chandima Manori Ranasinghe – Manager, Professional Practice Development, Ernst and Young; Damith Pallewatte – Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hatton National Bank PLC; Damitha Silva – Head of Product Lifecycle Management, NDB Bank PLC; Dileep Udara – Head of Supply, Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka PLC; Dilmi Eranga Gunarathna – Lead Engineer – Quality Assurance, Itechro Ltd., Dilusha Akalanka Karunarathne – Deputy General Manager, International Business, Kandetiya Agro Products Ltd., Dilusha Gamage – Assistant General Manager, Business Development, Ambeon Securities Ltd., Edgar Melan – General Manager, Group Engineering, Brandix Apparel Ltd., Gajhanan Vettivel – Manager, Information Communication Technology, CINEC Campus; Kanchana Boyagoda – Group Head of Human Resources, NDB Capital Holdings; Nadi Dharmasiri – Marketing and Branding Strategist/Motivational Speaker and Roshan Fernando – Regional Manager, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC

Mahesha Amarasuriya in her address said that PIM has been a nation-builder, a leadership incubator, and a meeting ground for ideas that shape economies, organisations, and societies. Hence as the Alumni of PIMA the Association will focus on strengthening relevance, deepening engagement, and creating meaningful value for members.

The new Executive Committee will focus on Member Growth and Engagement, Professional Development and Thought Leadership, National Policy and Advocacy, Brand Leadership and Strategic Partnerships

Guided by these strategic pillars, PIMA is committed to creating greater value, relevance, and impact for its alumni community, while reinforcing its contribution to the Postgraduate Institute of Management and Sri Lanka’s national development agenda

The Annual General Meeting concluded on a strong note of renewed commitment to collaboration, leadership, and service, underscoring PIMA’s unwavering dedication to nurturing a dynamic and highly engaged alumni community.
