The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) organised its 18th International Professional Development and Fellowship Program (IPDFP) in Sri Lanka from 20-27 June 2025.
Around 45 Company Secretaries from across India participated in this 7-day program that explored the dynamic role of company secretary professionals in the wake of this shifting paradigm. The International Conference was held on 26 June 2025 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Organised on the theme, Evolution of Corporate Governance in the Digital Age, the Conference witnessed the presence of Special Guest Institute of Chartered Corporate Secretaries Council Member Sathananthan Sudarshan.
Siyapatha Finance PLC Member – Board of Directors Shiran Perera, BoardPAC, Sri Lanka Associate Director – Legal Suvini Karunaratne, India CS Practicing Company Secretary Sujata Chattopadhyay, CS Ramaswami Kalidas and CS Ashok Tyagi were the distinguished speakers at the Conference, who navigated through the following insightful sessions: Empowering governance professionals in the digital age; Navigating the landscape of ESG reporting and role of company secretaries in promoting inclusive board cultures.
In his address, ICSI President CS Dhananjay Shukla aligned the ICSI’s perspective with the shared vision of India and Sri Lanka, “Fostering Partnerships for a Shared Future”, highlighted during Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Sri Lanka. He also emphasised on the renewed role of Company Secretaries amidst technological advancements.
ICSI Immediate Former President CS B. Narasimhan reflected on how Company Secretaries today, have embraced technology and are ethically leading the way in building transparent, accountable, and future-ready organisations.
With seventeen successful editions hosted across the world, including the most recent in Vietnam and Cambodia in 2024, the IPDFP continues to remain an important platform for professional development, knowledge sharing and networking.
