Cabinet approves draft bill on Gender Socialisation Equality

The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday approved publishing the draft bill on Gender Socialisation Equality via a gazette notification and tabling the same for Parliament approval.

Cabinet Co-Spokesman and Minister Bandula Gunawardena said the draft bill has been approved by the Attorney General. 

On 5 September 2022, the Cabinet approved the preparation of the draft bill on Gender Socialisation Equality.

The resolution furnished by President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as the Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment Minister was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on Monday.

Once enacted, the legislation is poised to play a pivotal role in fostering a more inclusive and equitable society to thrive and contribute to national development.
