CIPM Sri Lanka is set to launch a unique and industry-aligned Certificate in Employability Readiness Certification Program.

Unlike any other, this program is designed to equip school leavers and undergraduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers. With the tagline “Crafting Your Career Journey: Navigating Your Path to Lasting Success”, this program is a testament to CIPM’s commitment to building a more resourceful, resilient, and sustainable society by preparing the youth for employment.

In addition to its core HR programs, such as the Chartered Qualification in Human Resource Management (CQHRM), which CIPD UK and CMI UK accredit, CIPM introduces supplementary programs that can help to better align the competencies of the students in fulfilling the industry’s requirements and demands. This Employability Readiness Program is one such program.

“The CIPM’s new addition, the Certificate in Employability Readiness Program, will help ensure that the youth aspiring to gain employment are productive right from day one. The program will also help them understand what a potential employer expects from a new hire. We do not doubt that the CIPM Certificate in Employability Readiness Program will add value to the youth,” said CIPM Sri Lanka President Ken Vijayakumar.

The program focuses on various competencies like understanding the business world, types of employment, essential soft skills, IT skills, work ethics, job search and interview skills, intrapreneurship, and positive thinking. It includes modules on business insights, work-life, communication, work ethics, and job search techniques. The successful candidates who complete the program will be presented with a CIPM Certificate of Employability Readiness. The course will be of 2 ½ months duration over ten weeks with 20 sessions each of 3 hours.

The competency assessment will take the form of a continuous assessment for each topic/module through quizzes and class activities, group presentations, role plays, case studies, mock interviews, resumes, cover letters, job search, and interview skills preparation, and a final project or presentation that integrates the skills acquired during the program.

The program modules will cover awareness of the business world and nature of work, effective communication, ICT for the world of work, finding the right employment, soft skills for employment and work ethics, and positive thinking and mind power. The CIPM faculty and experienced HRM leaders in multinational conglomerates will disseminate the subject matter.
