The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka is set to host its most anticipated event of the year — the National Human Resource Management Conference (NHRC 2025 — on the 2 and 3 June at the Monarch Imperial, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte.

Held under the timely and transformative theme “Empowering People for a Thriving Nation,” the conference aims to spotlight the crucial role of human capital in driving national progress and economic resilience, especially in an era defined by rapid technological change, shifting workforce dynamics, and global uncertainty.

This two-day gathering of thought leaders, business executives, HR professionals, policymakers, and academics is expected to draw over 1,000 participants from across the country and the region. It serves as a platform for bold conversations and actionable insights that align with both national development goals and global HR trends.

This year’s conference takes a deep dive into how human capital can be the driver of economic resurgence, innovation, and social progress. As Sri Lanka embarks on a path toward economic stabilisation and growth, the conference will explore how a people-centric approach can unlock potential across industries and communities. From shaping leadership paradigms to transforming workplace cultures, NHRC 2025 will provide insights on how HR professionals and business leaders can be agents of change in this crucial phase of national recovery.

The event will feature an impressive lineup of international and local speakers, including Self Leadership International Founder Andrew Bryant and an internationally recognised leadership strategist and advocate for empathetic leadership Mimi Nicklin. Their presence is poised to bring fresh global perspectives to local challenges and opportunities in workforce development.

Participants will be engaged in a wide range of sessions tackling core themes such as transformative leadership, digital productivity, diversity and inclusion, work-life integration, and the agility needed for a future-ready workforce. Each session is designed to provide not only thought-provoking perspectives but also practical that attendees can apply in their respective organisations to create real impact. Commenting on the significance of this year’s conference, CIPM President Priyantha Ranasinghe said, “NHRC 2025 is more than just a conference—it’s a platform for collective inspiration. We are placing our faith in people power because we believe that empowered citizens are the backbone of a progressive nation.”

NHRC Committee Chairman Saman Jayawickrama emphasised the event’s importance by stating, “This year’s NHRC is designed to push the boundaries of conventional HR thinking. We are creating a space where policy makers, HR leaders, and business innovators can collaborate on real, actionable strategies for national development.”

Curating the intellectual essence of the conference, NHRC Technical Committee Chairman Ken Vijayakumar noted, “Our speaker lineup and session structure reflect a commitment to relevance, innovation, and depth. The knowledge shared will empower participants to return to their workplaces ready to lead change.”

As Sri Lanka stands at a pivotal juncture, NHRC 2025 is set to serve as both a mirror and a map—reflecting the urgent need for transformation while guiding the way forward. In a world reshaped by change, CIPM’s flagship conference is an invitation to reimagine the future through the lens of human potential.
