CA Sri Lanka President Heshana Kuruppu
The grandeur of the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on Friday provided a fitting backdrop for a historic moment in Sri Lanka’s professional landscape as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) not only held a convocation but staged a celebration of ambition and excellence, welcoming a record-breaking 617 new Chartered Accountants.
The air was electric with anticipation and pride. The sea of new members, clad in their ceremonial cloaks, represented the vibrant future of the nation’s business world. The ceremony was a poignant blend of tradition and progress, as each new Associate Member (ACA) stepped forward, their faces illuminated not just by the stage lights but by the promise of a career built on rigour and integrity.
The milestone extended beyond the new members, as 42 distinguished members were elevated to the esteemed Fellow Member (FCA) status, acknowledging their profound impact and leadership within the profession.
Among the dignitaries on stage were Chief Guest Brandix Apparel Ltd, Director Operations - Nadun Fernando together with CA Sri Lanka’s President Heshana Kuruppu, Vice President Tishan Subasinghe, Member Relations Committee Chairman Thivanka Jayasinghe, Members of Council and CEO Lakmali Priyangika.
The spotlight also fell on the convocation top achievers, with Dinali Nayanuththara Jayasinghe receiving the President’s Award for Most Outstanding New Member - 2025, and Marappulige Kavishka Madushan Nandasiri and Abdul Manaff Muhammed Kais being honoured as the joint Youngest CA Members of the Year for 2025.
