40 teams to compete in first-ever TOC today

The first ever Terminal Operators Cup will be conducted today, at the Kingsbury Hotel. Over 40 teams from the public and private sector corporates with over 200 participants will compete for this prestigious cup. The TOC will symbolise the development of the port sector in Sri Lanka and the importance of skills and knowledge development of the emerging shipping and logistics industry in Sri Lanka as a shipping hub. The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) and South Asia Gateway Terminal (SAGT) and the new Colombo International Container Terminal (CICT) have joined hands with Shippers’ Academy Colombo (SAC) and the International Quizzing Association (IQA) to conduct this first TOC. The subjects of the quiz will be international trade, transport and logistics. Teams representing, terminal operators, banks, shipping lines, insurance companies, chambers, exporters, logistics companies, public sector institutions and mercantile establishments will compete for the cup.
