Ruhunu Hospital, the largest private sector hospital provider in the Southern Province, celebrated its 30th anniversary in February.

Established in 1995, the hospital has continuously evolved to meet the healthcare needs of the community.

Over the past three decades, Ruhunu Hospital has significantly expanded its services. Today, it features nearly 100 inpatient rooms, more than 150 specialised medical consultants, 30 specialised units/centres, a state-of-the-art MRI centre, a fully equipped Cath Lab, a nine-bed ICU and HDU, a four-operating-theatre complex, and the largest laboratory chain in the Southern Province, with over 500 collection centres.

In 2021, Ruhunu Hospital opened its first strategic Primary Care Centre in Matara, with plans to expand it into a Secondary Care Hospital in the near future.

A few years ago, the hospital was recognised for having the most luxurious hospital suite in Sri Lanka, the King’s Court and Presidential Suite.

He also stressed the importance of strategically positioning Ruhunu Hospital for the years ahead.
