Physio Medicare marks 10 years of dedicated service

Physio Medicare is proud to announce 10 years of dedicated service to the community of Dehiwala and Colombo suburbs. It is an out-patient unit specialised in physiotherapy registered at the Ministry of Health.

Its 10th anniversary celebrations were held on Sunday 30 January at Cinnamon Grand.

Physio Medicare is a physiotherapy clinic specialised in sports physiotherapy, injury rehabilitation and wellbeing. Established in 2012, it has provided high-quality advice and treatment for 10 years. It envisaged providing a holistic service with its well-equipped modern physiotherapy instruments and a team of professionals who are registered health practitioners of the Sri Lanka Medical Council.

At the grand occasion marking its anniversary, it celebrated the milestones of Physio Medicare Founder Nilakshi Kasilingam, who has 14 years of experience as a physiotherapist.

Chief Physiotherapist and Physio Medicare Founder Nilakshi Kasilingam had pursued her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Rajiv Gandhi University in Bangalore, India. After completing her degree, she did a six-month internship at Bangalore. She started her own clinic after working in hospital setups, slimming centres, INGOs and NGOs. She also contributed her knowledge when the physiotherapy degree program started in Sri Lanka at the University of Peradeniya and University of Colombo as a visiting lecturer. She also spread awareness about physiotherapy by writing paper articles, doing TV programs, panel discussions, conducting training programs, online awareness videos during COVID-19 as well. She was also one of few medical professionals who worked in IDP camps as a physiotherapist during the end of the civil war in Sri Lanka along with other foreign nationals.
