LAUGFS Health and Wellness opens 1st standalone MEDZ Pharmacy outlet in Bandaragama

• Another step in the strategic drive to become an impactful player in the healthcare sector

 Taking yet another strategic step in its vision to become a multi-faceted force in the country’s healthcare sector, LAUGFS Health and Wellness, a subsidiary of LAUGFS Holdings, recently opened its first standalone pharmacy in Bandaragama. Well-equipped with high quality pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products together with qualified professionals registered with the Sri Lanka Medical Council, the new pharmacy outlet will add to the MEDZ chain of pharmacies. In addition to dispensing prescription medication, the outlet will serve as a small scale grocery store for the benefit of residents in the area.

Our pharmacy chain which was primarily located within LAUGFS Supermarkets will be further expanded with a network of standalone pharmacy outlets. The first standalone MEDZ Pharmacy in Bandaragama will provide a comprehensive range of pharmaceutical products together with other essential grocery items. Currently, LAUGFS Health and Wellness runs 21 pharmacy units at LAUGFS Supermarket premises throughout Sri Lanka. The chain will expand further with new MEDZ pharmacies located together with LAUGFS Supermarkets and two additional standalone outlets during the financial year.

LAUGFS has already set specific investments in motion to reinforce its presence in the healthcare sector and plans are well in place for aggressive expansion by the end of the current financial year.
