Mahaweli farmers to get out of the field

A decision was taken to boycott cultivating more than 60,000 acres of paddy lands in the Mahaweli B Zone as a protest against the Government for its failure to provide chemical fertiliser, reduce the price of fuel and agricultural inputs for paddy cultivation despite issuing water from Maduruoya and Pimburattewa reservoirs for the upcoming Yala season, Mahaweli B Zone Enterprise Committee, Vice Chairman G.W. Thilakaratne said.
