Instant cupcakes now on sale

The cupcake craze has stuck like glue and it seems like it’s here to stay. With so many places that makes ridiculously good cupcakes now in existence, it’s very rare that one goes to bake them like the good old days and sprinkle it with all kinds of yummy sweets.

Vishwadhika Perera whose boredom and love for baking led her towards the now famous ‘Sweet Wishes’ is launching a brand new product today evening that would bring to the fingertips the art of cupcake making. A first for Sri Lanka, Perera is introducing an instant cupcake mix which would enable all cupcake lovers to whip up a batch of cupcakes in just five minutes.

With her infectious laugh Perera revels that the new product was born the same way her ‘Sweet Wishes’ did- by accident. “I was talking to a friend in Australia and I was telling her about this program I did on TV and we were joking around and she said I could be the next Betty Crocker. We laughed and I momentarily forgot until later,” Perera said. Walking into the pantry after her conversation with her friend she walked into the pantry and what was gleaming in front of her? “There it was a Betty Crocker mash potato mix and I thought an instant mix is just the right kind of product to hit the market.”

“It’s more or less the same recipe I use when I bake for orders with a bit of preservatives added,” Perera expressed, “it will take a maximum of three to five minutes to prepare it.” She has done her research, given a few packs for tests and the response she received was great. “Everybody loved it. It comes exactly like what I make.” The mixture is made at home with the necessary equipments.

Right now, Perera is introducing chocolate cupcakes but hopes to expand the flavor range in a major way, soon. Everything is included in the pack which would deliver 12 cupcakes including the icing recipe at the back of the box and suggestions to decorate the cupcakes.
