Musically known as the ‘Scat Man’ and, at times, the ‘Local George Benson,’ Perera will delight the audience with his distinctive harmony scatting, fabulous acappella creations, gold medal-winning compositions, East-West collaborations, and a selection of light-hearted fan favourites.
The evening will also feature a medley of timeless hits by the Bee Gees, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Sinhala classics.
Joining him on stage will be Clifford Richards, Piyal Perera, Natasha Rathnayake, Nalin Perera, Melantha Perera, Julius Mitchel, the Brass Ensemble, and Jananath Warakagoda, for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of high-energy creativity on stage.
Perera is widely admired for his innovative, out-of-the-box compositions and his commitment to using music in the service of humanity.
Last week, he was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ and the ‘Pride of Sri Lanka Award’ by Business World International Organisation, USA (BWIO) in recognition of his exemplary humanitarian service through music, his specialised compositions, and a national project he conceptualised at the Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan to promote moral values among children through animated song videos.
Experience the creativity, energy, and stage magic of this exceptional musician as he performs with a stellar line-up of guest artistes. With a rich international career spanning performances around the world, Perera has proudly represented Sri Lanka at international music and jazz festivals, earning admiration for his originality and artistry.
This concert will raise funds for the Loyalty Pledge scholarship program, which supports deserving students. It is a special evening of music for a meaningful cause – an opportunity to enjoy a unique performance while helping children in need.
