‘Puss in Boots’ 3D movie now showing in 11 Lankan cinemas

American computer-animated comedy film ‘Puss in Boots’ is now being shown in 11 cinemas in Sri Lanka.

They are LSC – Liberty by Scope Cinemas, CCC – Colombo City Centre, PVR Colombo 2, KCC – Kandy City Centre, Majestic – Colombo 04, Savoy 3D, Savoy Primer – Rajagiriya, Regal Dematagoda, Regal Nuwara-Eliya, Regal Gampaha, and Milano Diamond.

Produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount Pictures, the film was directed by Chris Miller—who also directed Shrek the Third (2007)—and written by Tom Wheeler, from a story by Wheeler, Brian Lynch, and Will Davies. 

It stars Antonio Banderas (reprising his voice role as Puss in Boots), alongside Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton, and Amy Sedaris. 

A spin-off of the Shrek franchise, and rather than an adaptation of the Puss in Boots fairy-tale, the film follows the origin story of Puss in Boots (Banderas) on his adventures years before the events of Shrek 2 (2004). Accompanied by his friends, Humpty Dumpty (Galifianakis) and Kitty Softpaws (Hayek), Puss is pitted against Jack and Jill (Thornton and Sedaris), two murderous outlaws in ownership of legendary magical beans that lead to a great fortune for the Golden Eggs from the Goose.
