Pelican Island presents jazz festival made to mix at Galle Face Hotel

Where rhythm meets refreshment in a celebration of sound, spirits, and soul

Colombo’s lifestyle calendar is set to welcome an exciting new highlight with the Pelican Island Mixers Jazz and Funk Festival — an open-air celebration of music, spirits, and tropical elegance at the Galle Face Hotel on 14 June.

The festival brings together the country’s finest jazz and funk bands, including Jam Lab, En route, Dreaming of Saturn, Top Hats, as well as Terry and the Big Spenders, in a day-long fusion of music, cocktails, curated food pairings, and entertainment.

Guests can look forward to a range of immersive experiences throughout the day; from tastings led by experts to curated picnic tables for friends and families to gather, dine, and soak in the coastal views.

“At Liquid Island, we believe the best experiences are the ones that bring people together — through flavour, music, and shared moments. This festival is a celebration of that spirit,” Liquid Island General Manager Shalindri Malawana said.

More than just a music event, Pelican Island’s second rendition of ‘Gin and Jazz’ is rooted in its core ethos: #MadeToMix. Long known as a versatile mixer, Pelican Island takes centre stage in a different way — by complementing, elevating, and tying everything together. From bold spirits to smoky saxophone solos, the brand reinforces that it’s not the main act — but it’s the raeason everything flows.
