  • Announces exciting line up in celebration of International Jazz Day at Colombo’s urban hang-out The Breeze Bar on 28 and 29 April

It’s all about the jazz this month at Cinnamon Grand Colombo, as the quintessential property pays homage to the original tunes from New Orleans. 

The Breeze Bar, Colombo’s most sought-after urban hang-out will be the watering hole that all jazz lovers gather to on 28 and 29 April for a weekend of their favourite tunes, coupled with snazzy drinks and delectable delicacies. The two-day festival will feature some of the most notable names in the jazz scene who will serenade fans with their melodies.

Day one will feature Naomi Wijemanne and the Band, Mintaka and Summer Blues, all artists with their own brand of jazz from classical to contemporary. Naomi Wijemanne is no stranger to Colombo’s jazz scene with her iconic voice and performances drawing multitudes. Similarly, Mintaka also need no introduction with the likes of Sheam Deen being a staple on any jazz festival. Summer Breeze is a dynamic and versatile band that brings together a talented group of musicians with a passion for creating great music that is both fresh and timeless, blending elements of Jazz, Rock, Pop, and Soul to create a unique and unforgettable musical experience.

Q and The Band open the stage for day two with their own renditions of Jazz, RnB and Soul classics, followed by Summer Set, a Jazz, Soul and Dance band who play a mix of Pop, Rock, Jazz and golden oldies. The festival closes with performances by Bourbon Blues, a 5-piece band led by Jacqueline Hettiarachchi that caters to a wide range of music genres, including Pop, Funk, Jazz, Soul, Alternative Rock, and contemporary hits.
